Inter-library loan service

Inter-library loan is a lending and article copy service that takes place between libraries and information service units. The Aalto University Library has connections to libraries and information resource suppliers throughout the world. Materials not available in the library in question are requested for a customer from other Finnish or foreign libraries.

A request for an inter-library loan can also be via email, fax, using a printed form or by phone. All inter-library loan service is free of charge for Aalto University staff. A fee quoted in the library’s service price list will be charged for request by other customers.

Universal borrowing from the National Repository Library

Aalto University students and staff can also order loans and article copies as pdf files by themselves and free of charge from the National Repository Library in Kuopio. The National Repository Library is the common storage and interlibrary loan centre for alla Finnish libraries. Its collections are very extensive. Orders are usually arrive in a few workdays .
