The learning centre acquires research literature, periodicals and databases essential to the research, artistic activities, teaching, learning and the societal function of Aalto University.

The selection of material is based on principles defined in the learning centre’s collection policy and, especially, feedback and acquisition requests received from Aalto University staff and students.

The learning centre acquires materials also from other libraries and information resource suppliers throughout the world. Read more about the Interlibrary loan service.

Aalto University’s researchers and staff can also buy books for themselves or for their department by using the book acquisition service. 

Donations

The learning centre does accept donations of materials that complete or improve its current collections. The donated materials are property of the learning centre and it decides what parts are included to its collections and in what schedule that will happen.
